Pay rate:
Local: $2,000.00 – $2,100.00 Weekly
Traveler: $2,450.00 – $2,650.00 Weekly (Stipend Included)
Position Overview
This acute-care clinical role is responsible for screening and assessing patients, monitoring and educating on food/drug interactions, and collaborating closely with physicians on medical diet modifications. This vacancy is open for immediate sourcing as a full-time contract with a high possibility of ongoing extension or permanent placement.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian credential required.
- Acute-care hospital experience required.
- Experience performing nutritional assessments and patient screenings.
- Ability to interpret laboratory, clinical, and social data to develop nutrition care plans.
- Strong patient education and counseling skills.
- Experience documenting care plans and patient interactions within medical records.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
- Screen and assess patients in a timely and accurate manner based on specific levels of care to determine individual nutritional needs and provide necessary follow-up care.
- Interview patients and their families to collect detailed histories regarding food choices, dietary preferences, and habits.
- Review and interpret complex laboratory results, physical data, and social data from the medical record to formulate effective nutrition care plans.
- Provide comprehensive nutrition education to patients regarding their prescribed diets and potential food/drug interactions.
- Accurately document instructions and evaluate patient understanding within the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to modify patient menus and establish appropriate dietary restrictions or enhancements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Food and Nutrition Services within a healthcare setting.
- Strong communication and patient engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple patient assessments and follow-up activities efficiently.
