Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Certifications Requirements:

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the National Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Dietitian.
  • Demonstrated experience working in hospital or psychiatric settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with hospital EMR systems.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to shift pattern changes as determined by the Food Services Director.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry dietary supplies or documents, if necessary.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
  • Provide nutrition assessments, education, and counseling to patients in hospital and psychiatric settings.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Conduct nutrition screenings and coordinate with other medical staff to optimize patient care.
  • Support hospital food service operations by reviewing menus and nutritional content, ensuring compliance with dietary regulations.
