We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Registered Manager to support the day-to-day management of our supported living and day service. At Harrogate Home Support and Day Service, we offer support to people living in their own homes as well as a day service for people with a physical disability, learning disability and/or autism. We are proud to be rated as Good by CQC, and to have achieved Advanced Accreditation status with the National Autistic Society.

This is an exciting opportunity which will allow you to make a genuine difference to people's lives while leading and developing a high-quality service.

Summary of Responsibilities

•        Lead care and support services to ensure they are safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led. Maintain compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and North Yorkshire Council (NYC) policies
•        Drive continuous improvement and maintain accreditation through proactive change management.
•        Coordinate and organise care services for new and transferring individuals.
•        Ensure care is delivered in accordance with policies, procedures, care plans, and service level agreements.
•        Maintain effective working relationships with partners and other external stakeholders to ensure the quality-of-service delivery is maintained for the service
•        Lead, supervise, and motivate care staff to achieve high standards of performance through performance appraisals, training and development
•        Support recruitment, selection, induction, and retention activities.
•        Provide regular supervision and day-to-day guidance to team memebers.
•        Plan and manage staffing rotas, including arranging appropriate cover.
•        Authorise timesheets and ensure financial administration processes are adhered to.
•        Be responsible for the effective management of a budget
•        Ensure effective communication with service users, families, carers, colleagues, and partner agencies.
•        Ensure staff comply with health and safety requirements and risk management procedures.
•        Promote and uphold safeguarding practices at all times.

 About You

We are looking for someone who has: 

• Previous experience in a care setting, including supervising or leading staff.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Experience of staff supervision, performance management, and development.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management principles.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
• The ability to make decisions confidently and work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills.

 Additional Information 

• A satisfactory DBS check is required for this post.
• It is an expectation that Registered Managers actively develop their knowledge, skills, and competencies in line with recognised management standards.
• This role involves regular spoken communication and requires a confident use of the English language.
• A level 3 qualification in Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent is required with a commitment to undertake a level 5 qualification in Leadership for Health and Social Care
• There is a requirement for the successful applicant to achieve registration with CQC as a "fit and proper" person to manage a registered service.
