Registered Nurse - 7 PM - 7 AM (Part-time)!!!!

Position Summary 

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the overall nursing care of residents during their shift, including but not limited to the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, and documentation of care provided. The RN assists physicians during examinations and procedures and operates and monitors medical equipment as needed. The RN observes residents' progress and records observations in their medical records. Additionally, the RN promotes residents' independence by educating them and their families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills. The RN develops long-term care plans for residents in collaboration with other medical professionals. They may also provide emergency medical care for residents in independent living.

Essential Functions                                                                          

• Monitors and charts the resident’s vital signs, symptoms, and other information to ensure the resident's health and well-being.
• Performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications safely and on time, implements other treatments, and ensures compliance with prescribed therapies.
• Records resident histories and assists in developing comprehensive care plans;
  Keeps physicians and families aware of changes in residents' conditions; assesses and coordinates residents' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Protects residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication.
• May supervise the work of licensed practical nurses (LPN) and geriatric nursing assistants (GNA).
• Remains current with new developments in the field and complete continuing education courses regularly to maintain nursing license.
• Provides emotional support to residents and resident families and listen to concerns and feedback
• Adheres to state and federal-mandated standards and procedures.
• Perform physical assessment and health history for the (insert specialty patient) (e.g. critical care, home health, or pediatric)
• Develop plan of care aligned with nursing process
• Perform clinical and patient care procedures such as collecting lab samples/specimens, wound care
• Promote health/wellness and provide patient/caregiver/family education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team
• Supervision of care team i.e. LPNs & ancillary staff
• Administering medications and monitoring patients for side effects
• Documenting patient charts and electronic health records
• Adhering to nursing regulations at the local, state, and federal levels
