    Under the direction of the Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Director, the RN delivers high-quality, patient-centered care by utilizing the nursing process. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering treatments and medications, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and supporting patients and families throughout the rehabilitation process.

    Responsibilities

    Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care.

    Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care using the nursing process.

    Administer medications and treatments accurately while maintaining complete EMR documentation.

    Monitor patient progress and modify care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.

    Complete NIH Stroke Scale documentation for applicable patients.

    Conduct hourly patient rounding to promote safety, comfort, and satisfaction.

    Educate patients and families to promote independence and successful self-management after discharge.

    Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.

    Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Unit Secretaries, and Techretaries.

    Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff and students.

    Support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety, and professional development activities.

    Qualifications

    Education

    Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

    Licensure & Certifications

    Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 6 months of hire

    Quality Indicator Measure Certification within 6 months of hire

    Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) preferred

    Qualifications

    Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.

    Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

    Knowledge of rehabilitation nursing practices and the care of patients with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses preferred.

    Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
