The Adult Co-Occurring Disorders Unit is a 22 bed unit offering rapid evaluation with medical and psychiatric intervention. A track for adults with concurrent chemical dependency provides brief crisis intervention with a physician until the patient can be transferred to a lower level of care. 

As a Staff Nurse you will:

  • Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans.
  • Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
  • Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
  • Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff.
  • Document and report patient progress to treatment team.

Requirements:

    • Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position.
    • Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing-acquired through at least one year of inpatient RN experience; prior LPN inpatient experience will be considered with every one year of LPN experience equating to 6 months RN experience

All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment. 

What we need from you.

  • Must hold current registered nurse (RN) licensure to practice in Maryland at the time of appointment and maintain licensure throughout the duration of employment.
    • Candidates residing in a compact state may apply with a multistate license and must obtain a Maryland RN license within 60 days of relocation.
  • Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting is preferred, but not necessary.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
