ABOUT THE ADULT EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER: The Adult Emergency Department is a level one trauma center and comprehensive stroke center located in Bostons South End. POSITION SUMMARY: As an RN in the Adult Emergency Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. DEPARTMENT: Adult Emergency Department SCHEDULE: Full and Part Time Positions Available SHIFT: Day/Evening Rotation and Night Shifts Available

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver nursing care in the Adult Emergency Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCs nursing organization
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the ability to obtain a MA RN License
  • 1+ years of ED RN experience required
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS) required
  • TNCC required or obtained prior to start date
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range: $38.05- $75.33

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
