Position Summary
Penda Aiken inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn New York. Our client is a New York State Agency and is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their team in Albany, NY. This role is responsible for formulating investigative plans, reviewing medical records, executing interviews, and preparing clinical case reports to support investigations related to medical misconduct.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Investigative Planning & Execution: Formulate investigative plans and perform investigations related to medical misconduct; obtain, evaluate, and document all evidence, interviews, phone conversations, and written findings.

  • Clinical & Data Analysis: Analyze medical records, clinical materials, statistical data, quality assurance materials, and criminal/malpractice information to provide clinical opinions as part of the process.

  • Interviews & Communication: Arrange and execute in-house, field, or phone interviews with complainants, attorneys, subjects of investigation, and key stakeholders; communicate with outside entities, facilities, and agencies.

  • Case Preparation & Reporting: Develop legal/technical background materials, prepare completed case reports to present to oversight committees, and draft investigative correspondence for stakeholders, licensees, and the general public.

  • Monitoring & Operational Support: Vet monitors, review practice monitor reports, contact pharmacies, and manage incoming and outgoing calls with licensees.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with investigative staff, medical coordinators, medical experts, pharmacy consultants, attorneys, and management throughout the investigative process.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse with a current, active license and registration (no disciplinary actions on license).

  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Investigative Experience: Three (3) years of investigative experience with knowledge of various investigative techniques, as well as experience with the professional medical conduct process.

  • Technical & Soft Skills: Basic word processing and database application skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong customer service skills.
