    Description

    Facility: Ambulatory Surgery Center

    Shift: Shift 1

    Status: Full Time FTE: 1.066667

    Bargaining Unit: Catholic Health Emmaus

    Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: No

    Work Schedule: Days and Evenings

    Hours: Five 8hr days, no weekends, no holidays, no call, hours vary. Start anywhere between 545-8am depending on the day and the department

    Summary:

    The Ambulatory Surgery Unit Registered Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working with ancillary personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the ambulatory surgery setting.

    Responsibilities:

    Educational Requirements:

    • Meets and is current and competent with all NYS licensure requirements. Not limited to Infection Control and Child Abuse mandatory reporting.

    Experience Requirements:

    • Four (4) years medical/surgical experience strongly preferred
    • BLS current registration or within one year of hire
    • ACLS/PALS required within one year of hire

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to perform technical aspects of job with unit-based equipment.
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Ability to work across Service Line
    • Ability to meet demands of unit staffing - need for increased census and acuity.
    • Adaptable to inside and outside environmental conditions.
    • Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office
    • Occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions.
