The Registered Nurse serves as an expert in evaluating patients, administering care, recognizing complications and coordinating with other members of the critical care team. This position uses advanced skills to care for patients who are critically ill and at high risk for life-threatening health problems. This role is responsible for responding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment, acting as patient advocate, and providing education and support to patient families. This position works with increasing independence to set criteria for the quality of patient care, assess patients' needs and cares for patients using specialized knowledge and skills and evaluates the outcomes and interventions. This individual also directs and guides patient care activities of ancillary personnel and other patient care personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing practice.
What you will do
Assesses, identifies, and prioritizes patient and family needs to provide quality care to all patients. Develops, discusses, and communicates plan of care for each patient in collaboration with the care team.
Safely delivers medications and treatments. Monitors and documents patient responses and upholds all safety policies and protocols including patient identification, risk mitigation ensuring a safe individualized plan of care.
Performs continuous patient assessment, detects changes in condition, and communicates with appropriate care team members to support prompt clinical decision making.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit to facility meeting goals and objectives.
Maintains current documentation and required licensure, certifications, required education, and competencies in accordance with unit scope of service and professional standards. Pursues professional growth and development.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing Required or
Associates Degree Nursing Required
Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required
BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
ACLS Provider (ACLS) Upon Hire Required
National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) Upon Hire Required
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in nursing, knowledge, and skills.
Basic computer skills.
