    Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health (Adult Inpatient)
    Location: Brooklyn, NY 11206
    Job Type: 36 Hours/Week | 12-Hour Shifts | 13 Weeks


    Shift Options

    • Day Shift: 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM
    • Night Shift: 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM

    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join an Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health team in Brooklyn, NY. The RN will provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team, administer medications, complete behavioral health assessments, and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for adult psychiatric patients.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments at admission, throughout hospitalization, and at discharge.
    • Develop, implement, evaluate, and document individualized nursing care plans.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, treatment planning, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings.
    • Complete and document required psychiatric screening and assessment tools, including:
      • BROSET
      • C-SSRS
      • Elopement Risk Assessment
      • CIWA
      • CINA
      • AUDIT-C
      • PSP
    • Administer medications safely and accurately.
    • Monitor patient response to treatment and document progress in the EMR.
    • Facilitate and co-lead therapeutic nursing education groups.
    • Contribute to the Comprehensive Treatment Plan for assigned patients.
    • Perform diagnostic procedures within RN scope of practice.
    • Supervise and guide ancillary staff in psychiatric patient care activities.
    • Maintain patient safety, including suicide precautions, seclusion protocols, and elopement prevention.
    • Escort and monitor patients during off-unit diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
    • Participate in patient-family conferences and provide education to patients and families.
    • Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment.

    Required Qualifications

    • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited nursing program.
    • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
    • Primary Source Verification of RN License through the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
    • Minimum of 2 years of Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Nursing experience in an inpatient or acute care setting.
