RATIOS - We have 16 beds but have not had staffing to go over 12 for a while. We try to staff 2 rns a shift except overnight is 1. Usually its a charge/med rn and a admission/dc rn.
For 9 kids we would have minimum 4 staff on day and evening - could be 1rn/3mhc or 2rn/2mhc For 12 kids - days 2rn/2mhc, eves 2rn/3mhc. If its a time with only 1 rn then we increase MHC to keep total correct.
