Hours: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
Weekly Hours: 36 hours/week
Holiday/On-Call: None
Floating: Required to similar units within the facility
EMR: EPIC required
Pay: $2,340 – $2,400/week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health to provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
The RN will care for adolescent, adult, and older adult patients, performing assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, ongoing monitoring, and behavioral health interventions while collaborating with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and older adult behavioral health patients.
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patients' physical, emotional, and behavioral conditions.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic patient environment.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral health crises.
- Follow suicide prevention, seclusion/restraint, and patient safety protocols.
- Accurately document patient care and clinical information in EPIC.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Provide education and support to patients and families.
- Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary meetings.
- Float to similar behavioral health units within the facility as needed.
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) – Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
- Inpatient behavioral health experience required.
- Experience caring for adolescent, adult, and older adult populations preferred.
- Strong behavioral health assessment and crisis-management skills preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current New Jersey RN License or valid Compact RN License.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
