The primary purpose of the Ambulatory RN is to manage the direct patient care for all patients. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care, including care provided by those under his/her direction such as the LPN or Medical Assistant. The registered nurse will utilize nursing skills to evaluate, treat, and report to the physician and other healthcare professional and physical and special needs of the patient. This individual performs initial clinical assessments and assists physician/practitioner with any treatments or procedures; patient instruction/education related to diagnosis, tests and medications; maintenance and proficiency testing of clinical equipment. Educates patients, families and staff on patient care issues. |
