Position Summary
Penda Aiken Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is a New York State Agency seeking a compassionate and highly qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to join a medical treatment team at a juvenile secure center in Tompkins County. This role focuses on providing comprehensive nursing interventions and medication administration consistent with an established systematic problem-solving approach to deliver quality care in compliance with regulatory standards.

This is a fast-paced, high-accountability role requiring high reliability, punctuality, and strict adherence to health, safety, and infection control procedures.
Primary Responsibilities

• 
  Medication & Inventory Control: Maintain strict inventory standards and proper protocols for general medicines, controlled drugs, and narcotics.
  
• 
  Medication Administration & Interventions: Deliver direct medication administration and nursing interventions consistent with comprehensive, individual treatment plans.
  
• 
  Patient Health Evaluation: Continually review and evaluate the overall health condition of youth; prepare and adapt nursing intervention plans as needed.
  
• 
  Clinical & Administrative Reporting: Prepare required clinical, progress, and administrative reports on schedule according to agency guidelines.
  
• 
  Infection Control & Multidisciplinary Care: Maintain infection control standards and participate actively as a key member of the facility's multidisciplinary medical treatment team.
  
• 
  Training & Compliance: Participate in facility staff trainings and perform additional operational duties as discussed during the interview process.
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 
  Licensure: Licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in the State of New York.
  
• 
  Schedule: Full-time, 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM with alternating weekends.
  
• 
  Background Investigation: Candidates must successfully complete required NYS security clearances at no personal cost, including:
  
  • 
    Fingerprint-based Criminal Background Check (CBC - State & Federal)
    
  • 
    Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR) screening
    
  • 
    Justice Center Staff Exclusion List (SEL) check
