Hours: 10 hour shifts (4 days per week - no weekends/no holidays/no call)

We are seeking a Cardiology RN, internally referred to as our Cardio Nurse, Cardiac Stress RN or Cardiovascular RN. Cardiovascular RNs assist cardiologists by offering direct care to patients with acute or chronic cardiovascular diseases. They may use electrocardiograms, stress tests, and vascular monitoring to evaluate the heart health of our patients.  

 

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): 

  • Assess patients' cardiac health through physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation 
  • Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs) to identify irregularities or signs of distress 
  • Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, oral medications, and intravenous infusions, including medications to regulate blood pressure, control arrhythmias, or manage heart failure symptoms 
  • Provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques to manage their condition effectively 
  • As a Cardiology RN you may assist physicians during cardiac procedures such as nuclear stress test 
  • Respond to cardiac emergencies such as cardiac arrests or acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) by initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) protocols 
Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience

 

1. Current and valid state RN License.

2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. Current ACLS Certification 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

4. Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN) preferred.

5. One (1) year of acute clinical Radiology Nursing experience preferred.

6. Ventilator Management experience preferred.

7. Conscious Sedation Monitoring competency within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
