The role of the registered nurse is to support the physicians and/or mid-level providers in the practice with clinical activities and direct patient care. The RN's focus in the cardiology practice will be phone triage and you must have attention to detail and ability to prioritize the acuity of each situation. Other responsibility may be to assist in appointment scheduling, nurse visits and other related activities for optimal patient service. RN's by nature of licensure have an oversight responsibility to other clinical staff (LPN and MA).Roles and Responsibilities:Performs professional nursing care in accordance with NYS Nursing Practice ActCarries out all assigned nursing procedures while maintaining a calm and profession demeanor during emergent situationsProvides patient education, as requested providerPrepares patient record for visit, including but not limited to chart prep and nurse note documentationParticipates in scheduled team meetings to discuss clinical roles, processes and patient concernsWorks well with members of the team to achieve patient centered care as well as quality by implementing best practice standardsThe shifts for the RN position are 4 10 hour shifts a week.
