Registered Nurse - Classroom Instructor (Full-Time)

Location: Aurora, CO | Campus: On-Site

Target Program: Practical Nursing (LPN)

Type: Full-Time (40 Hours Per Week) | Monday - Friday Compensation: $40.00 - $46.89 per hour

Your Mission: Lead the Future of Practical Nursing (LPN)

Are you a seasoned RN ready to transition your clinical mastery into a rewarding career in academia? Pima Medical Institute is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Classroom Instructor for our Practical Nursing (LPN) program in Aurora.

This role is designed for a nursing expert who wants to trade unpredictable 12-hour shifts for a stable, impactful mentorship position. You will lead the instructional charge-helping future LPNs master core nursing theory and hands-on skills in a high-fidelity environment. With our supportive team structure, clinical instructors handle off-site rotations, allowing you to be the primary educational anchor for your students on campus.

What Your Week Looks Like

  • Monday - Thursday: Lead core classroom lectures and simulation lab instruction following our approved Practical Nursing curriculum (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).

  • Friday: Host "Open Lab" sessions for students to reinforce skills, provide one-on-one tutoring, and complete administrative program tracking.

  • Instructional Focus: Bridging the gap between nursing theory and real-world application for future Licensed Practical Nurses.

Key Responsibilities

  • LPN Curriculum Leadership: Prepare and deliver engaging, data-driven lectures aligned with Practical Nursing standards.

  • Simulation Mastery: Lead high-fidelity simulation lab activities, ensuring students are proficient in clinical techniques before they reach the patient's bedside.

  • Student Success Management: Support student progression through regular academic advising, performance check-ins, and proactive intervention.

  • NCLEX-PN Readiness: Actively coach and mentor students to ensure they are prepared for successful NCLEX-PN licensure.

  • Accreditation & Compliance: Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to program quality improvement in alignment with CNEA standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Licensure: Current, active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Colorado.

  • Education: Master's in Nursing (MSN) preferred. BSN candidates with active enrollment in an MSN program will be considered with a commitment to completion.

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience providing direct patient care.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills; ability to simplify complex clinical concepts for students.

  • Preferred: Prior experience in teaching, precepting, or high-fidelity simulation instruction.

About the Company

P

Pima Medical Institute

Pima Medical Institute started changing lives in 1972 when Richard Luebke Sr. and his wife, JoAnn, brought to life their dream of providing quality medical career education. They opened the first campus in Tucson, Arizona, preparing students to become nursing assistants. Eventually Richard Luebke Jr. and Mark Luebke took the helm, introducing more programs and opening additional campus locations to meet the country’s growing demand for quality healthcare professionals.

In 2015, Fred Freedman became Pima Medical’s President and Chief Executive Officer after serving the college as Chief Operating Officer. He has been with Pima Medical since June of 2000. He’s leading Pima Medical into the future, with growth, innovation and a keen eye on what healthcare providers need in great employees. We encourage you to become part of the Pima Medical Institute family, where you can help make a difference in the lives of our students today and educate future professionals.

As our community of students continues to grow, so does our community of talented staff. We truly believe that our people are the heart of our organization, and as we grow, we continue to hold ourselves accountable to the values that support those people.
