At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, our Postpartum team is dedicated to providing exceptional, family-centered care during one of life's most important moments. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical II to deliver high-quality nursing care while supporting mothers, newborns, and their families through education, advocacy, and clinical excellence.
What You'll Do
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns.
- Coordinate individualized patient care plans and provide family-centered education.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patient progress.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and safety standards.
- Utilize SBAR communication to collaborate effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
- Support timely admissions, transfers, and discharge planning to promote efficient patient throughput.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding support, and discharge instructions.
- Advocate for patients while promoting a compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive care environment.
- Maintain infection prevention and patient safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice activities.
- Float to assigned patient care areas as needed in accordance with hospital policy.
What You Bring
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent Registered Nurse experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient- and family-centered care.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
Requirements
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Fetal Monitoring certification within 30 days of hire.
- Annual Nursing Care Stroke Education completed within 30 days of hire or transfer.
