As a Clinical Quality Improvement Specialist, you will partner with physicians, nurses, and healthcare leaders to improve patient care and outcomes. In this role, you will design and facilitate service line improvement and quality programs, serving as a key resource to align priorities, monitor performance, and advance meaningful improvement. Using data and process improvement methodologies, you will identify improvement needs, launch initiatives, and lead through coaching and example.

General Description:
The Clinical Quality Improvement Specialist I supports the organization’s Quality Improvement program through reliable data collection, validation, analysis, and structured improvement support. This role develops foundational capability in measurement for improvement, variation analysis, and structured problem‑solving methodologies. The Specialist I contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by supporting frontline teams in advancing patient safety, quality outcomes, experience, and operational performance.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position and encompass all organization facilities, to include outlying Ambulatory Clinics. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
Collects, abstracts, validates, and maintains accurate datasets in support of quality and patient safety initiatives.
Develops basic run charts, dashboards, and visual displays to support performance monitoring and improvement efforts.
Monitors process and outcome measures under the guidance of senior quality team members.
Supports improvement initiatives using structured methodologies such as PDSA, Lean, or A3, with clinical or operational input as appropriate.
Assists in regulatory readiness and quality reporting activities.
Prepares routine reports, dashboards, and presentation materials for quality committees and leadership.
Supports quality reviews of clinical and operational performance indicators under guidance.

Level 1 Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of Nursing required.
Experience: No experience required.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Level 2 Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of Nursing required.
Experience: At least three (3) years of experience required in healthcare quality improvement, performance improvement, patient safety, or related analytics role required.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
Level 3 Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of Nursing required.
Experience: At least five (5) years of experience required in healthcare quality improvement, performance improvement, or patient safety within an academic medical center or large integrated healthcare system required.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Advanced certification in change management or healthcare quality required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Foundational knowledge of healthcare quality improvement and patient safety principles.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Foundational analytical and data interpretation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint); experience with data visualization tools preferred.
Ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
