Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Combined Procedural Unit (CPU) to join a dynamic acute care team. This hybrid role requires an RN who is comfortable working across the ICU, Pre-Operative, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environments. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to provide exceptional patient care throughout the perioperative process.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients undergoing surgical and procedural treatments.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Combined Procedural Unit, including Pre-Op, PACU, and ICU settings as needed.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret telemetry findings.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
- Promote evidence-based nursing practice while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care, Pre-Operative, and Recovery/PACU nursing experience required.
- Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience required.
- Strong Telemetry experience required.
- PACU or ICU-trained candidates are required.
- 3+ years of PACU experience preferred.
