    Description

    Job Title: Registered Nurse – Combined Procedural Unit (CPU)

    Location: Hackensack, NJ
    Assignment Duration: 8 Weeks

    Schedule

    • Shift: Days
    • Hours: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM
    • Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts
    • Hours per Week: 40

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Combined Procedural Unit (CPU) to join a dynamic acute care team. This hybrid role requires an RN who is comfortable working across the ICU, Pre-Operative, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environments. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to provide exceptional patient care throughout the perioperative process.

    Responsibilities

    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients undergoing surgical and procedural treatments.
    • Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Combined Procedural Unit, including Pre-Op, PACU, and ICU settings as needed.
    • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
    • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
    • Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret telemetry findings.
    • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
    • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
    • Promote evidence-based nursing practice while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

    Required Qualifications

    Education

    • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

    Experience

    • Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care, Pre-Operative, and Recovery/PACU nursing experience required.
    • Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience required.
    • Strong Telemetry experience required.
    • PACU or ICU-trained candidates are required.
    • 3+ years of PACU experience preferred.

    Additional Information
