Our client is a New York State Agency seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RN) to join the medical unit team at Coxsackie Correctional Facility. These roles focus on delivering quality medical services within a secure correctional facility environment, providing direct clinical treatment, health management, and routine care to incarcerated individuals.
These fast-paced positions require high reliability, punctuality, strong organizational skills, and strict adherence to institutional security protocols and clinical safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Care: Diagnose and treat patient health problems; perform comprehensive health assessments to identify new symptoms, undiagnosed conditions, or medical complications.
Medication Administration: Safely administer medications, treatments, and perform clinical procedures as ordered.
Restorative & Palliative Care: Manage and deliver restorative or palliative care to ill, disabled, or dying patients within the unit.
Patient Education: Teach and counsel patients regarding health maintenance, illness prevention, and self-care strategies.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team and contribute to health-related committees to plan and implement patient care.
Medical Regimen Execution: Faithfully execute care plans and medical regimens prescribed by physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and podiatrists.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Valid, accredited Nursing degree.
Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of post-licensure clinical nursing work experience.
Clearance: Must successfully pass mandatory background checks and fingerprinting prior to the start of the work schedule.
Documentation: Updated, current resume required at submission.
