Registered Nurse CVOR (Akron General)

Legacy Staffing has partnered with a world-class hospital in Akron, OH to hire an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse (RN). This is a first shift opportunity working 4x10 hour days at a pay rate of up to $50/hour based on experience and skill level. This role focuses on providing direct patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring outstanding outcomes before, during, and after surgery. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiovascular surgery patients in accordance with hospital policies and established standards of care. 
• Circulate cardiovascular and open-heart surgical procedures while supporting the surgical team. 
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, and update individualized patient care plans. 
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions and responses to treatment. 
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 
• Carry out physician and nursing orders accurately and efficiently. 
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning and follow-up care. 
• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, care plans, and recovery expectations. 
• Promote a safe, high-quality experience for patients, families, and visitors. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Minimum of one year of recent RN experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) required. 
• Experience circulating open-heart cases preferred. 
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license. 
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 
• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. 
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. 
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient-care skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). 
• Additional cardiovascular surgical experience and advanced certifications. 

Schedule & On-Call Requirements: 

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM 
• 1-2 weekday call shifts per week from end of shift until 7:00 AM the following morning. 
• 1 weekend call rotation every 6 weeks (24 hours Saturday and 24 hours Sunday). 
• 1 working shift on Saturday or Sunday every 6 weeks, typically coordinated with weekend call. 
• Participation in holiday call rotations as needed.
