Position SummaryWayne Pediatrics is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our pediatric care team. The RN will provide direct patient care, support physicians and nurse practitioners, educate families, and help ensure a comforting, safe, and efficient experience for every young patient. Key Responsibilities- Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, growth measurements, and developmental screenings
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments per physician orders and pediatric protocols
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures
- Educate parents and caregivers on child health, immunizations, medication administration, and home care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Triage patient phone calls and messages, providing guidance within scope of practice
- Coordinate referrals, lab work, and follow-up care with families and specialists
- Maintain a clean, safe, and child-friendly clinical environment
- Respond calmly and effectively to pediatric emergencies
- Collaborate with the care team to support quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN)
- Current BLS certification required; PALS certification preferred
- Prior pediatric, family practice, or outpatient clinic experience preferred
- Strong communication skills with both children and caregivers
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
