TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Registered Nurse (Developmental Disabilities) in Putnam County, NY for our client, providing nursing oversight, healthcare coordination, and clinical support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings. This role will oversee nursing assessments, medication management, individualized care plans, and staff training across multiple residential locations. The RN will work closely with direct care staff and healthcare providers to ensure safe, effective, and person-centered care.
Responsibilities as the Registered Nurse (Developmental Disabilities):
Nursing Assessments: Conduct health assessments, monitor patient conditions, and develop individualized nursing care plans.
Care Coordination: Coordinate healthcare services, medical appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.
Medication Management: Oversee medication administration, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with established protocols.
Staff Training: Provide clinical guidance and training to care staff on healthcare procedures and individual patient needs.
Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate nursing assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure nursing services comply with applicable healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
Qualifications for the Registered Nurse (Developmental Disabilities):
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required, with a bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
Experience: 1+ years of nursing experience is preferred, particularly in residential care, community health, or developmental disability services.
Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, nursing assessments, medication management, and individualized care planning is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic clinical documentation and Microsoft Office is required.
Transportation: Valid driver's license and ability to travel between work locations are required.
Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, leadership, adaptability, and ability to work independently and collaboratively are required.
