Position Summary: The Registered Nurse Director for Emergency Services will oversee the daily operations and strategic planning of the emergency department. This includes managing a team of nurses and support staff, ensuring quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency nursing, leadership skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement strategic plans to improve the quality of care and efficiency of the emergency department - Manage and mentor a team of nurses and support staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care - Monitor and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, including but not limited to HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission - Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and efficient use of resources - Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance emergency services and promote the department - Oversee budget and resource allocation for the emergency department - Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff members - Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members - Stay current with industry trends and best practices, implementing new processes and protocols as needed - Serve as a liaison between the emergency department and other hospital departments, as well as external agencies and organizations - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports related to the emergency department - Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering teamwork and collaboration among staff members Qualifications: - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina - Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's degree preferred - Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency nursing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role - Strong knowledge of emergency nursing best practices, regulations, and standards of care - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills - Ability to make critical decisions under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation - Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems - Flexibility to work varying shifts and on-call as needed We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
