Description Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations - Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York - plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care. Non-acute care is offered through various affiliates.
JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population in the Emergency Department. He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the departments standards of care and the Standards of Emergency Nursing Practice. He/she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and the organization, remains flexible to changing systems, is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice, and treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Licensure Registration Certification Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BLS upon hire ACLS within 1 year of hire or transfer PALS within 2 years of hire or transfer NALSNRP recommended and desired TNCC recommended CEN certification desired
Work Experience 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience required. Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age type of patient population served. Must meet clinical competency standards specific to Emergency Department patients.
Working Conditions Manual significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. Occupational Significant occupational risk. Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force. Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
