Position Title: Registered Nurse
Location: Elmira NY 14901
Duration: 2 years
Work Schedule: 5 days week, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM
Pay rate: 55-58$/hr.Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:- Administer prescribed medications to psychiatric patients.
- Perform comprehensive physical and mental health assessments.
- Monitor patient status and document findings accurately.
- Provide shift oversight and clinical guidance to Mental Health Therapy Aides.
- Evaluate and maintain a safe, therapeutic treatment environment.
- Facilitate and support therapeutic patient groups.
- Serve as the Shift Charge Nurse and coordinate nursing activities.
- Orient and mentor new nursing staff.
- Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques and participate in restraint procedures when clinically indicated.
- Ensure compliance with Office of Mental Health (OMH) policies and nursing standards.
To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience]- Current, unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Valid driver's license.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.
- New York State Mandated Reporter Training certification.
- Experience in psychiatric, behavioral health, or mental health nursing preferred.
- Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks and meet vaccination requirements (MMR, PPD, and seasonal influenza).
- Willingness to complete required Office of Mental Health (OMH) onboarding, including TRUST verbal de-escalation and restraint training.
