Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.

Required Qualifications

Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).

• Require a minimum of one (1) year of emergency registered nurse experience.
• Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
• Require the follow certifications upon completion of department orientation: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention NOTE: Experienced Registered Nurses & Seasonal PRN, Plan 4 Registered Nurses must present PALS certification upon hire. - Require the following courses/certifications within one (1) year of completing department orientation (PRN Plan 4 employees are required to have upon hire): Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) Note: All certifications must be maintained thereafter.
