    Location: MetroHealth Main Campus

    Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

    Shift: 7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

    Join our Level 1 Trauma Center Main Campus Emergency Department!

    Primary Patient Population:

    • Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients
    • Level 1 Trauma Center


    Primary skills utilized/learned:

    • Patient Assessments
    • Patient Triage
    • Trauma care
    • IV insertion, blood draws, Foley catheter insertion
    • Time management, critical thinking, delegating


    Personnel RN will work with:

    • LPNs, Paramedics, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Behavioral Observers (BO), Providers


    Number of beds on unit:

    • 93 beds (Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) included)
    • 10 Trauma Bays
    • 80k+ patient visits annually


    Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

    • Level 1 Trauma Center
    • Lantern Award
    • Stroke Certified

    Required Qualifications:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
    • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
    • Current AHA BLS, ACLS or obtained within 90 days of hire.
    • Current PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
    • Current TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire.
    • Current NIHSS Stroke certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
    • PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
    • PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • BSN
    • Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
