Registered Nurse - Endoscopy (Akron General)

Legacy Staffing has partnered with a World-Class Hospital in Akron, OH to hire an experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN). This is a day shift opportunity with a pay range of up to $43.00/hour based on experience and skill level.  This role focuses on providing exceptional patient care throughout the endoscopy process, including pre-operative assessment, procedural support, patient education, recovery monitoring, and discharge planning. The ideal candidate will have recent Endoscopy experience and excel in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures and complete comprehensive pre-operative assessments. 
• Assess patients' physical and psychological status, obtain vital signs, and ensure accurate admissions documentation. 
• Support physicians during endoscopic procedures and communicate pertinent patient information to the care team. 
• Accurately document procedures, label specimens, and maintain detailed patient records. 
• Monitor patients throughout recovery and ensure all discharge criteria are met prior to release. 
• Ensure all required consents, charting, and documentation are completed correctly. 
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all hospital and department policies. 
• Participate in ongoing education, competency training, and quality improvement initiatives. 
• Identify unsafe practices and contribute to process improvement efforts. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent Endoscopy RN experience required. 
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN). 
• Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) License. 
• Current AHA BLS Certification. 
• ACLS Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire). 
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience. 
• Ability to maintain competencies specific to the patient population served. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Recent Endoscopy experience. 
• ICU or PACU experience. 
• Membership in a professional nursing organization. 
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills. 

Schedule & Call Requirements: 

• Day shift schedule:  7:00 AM - 3:30 PM 
• Shift times may vary and will be discussed during the interview process. 
• No regularly scheduled weekends unless called in. 
• 1-2 weekday call shifts per week after scheduled shift until 7:00 AM. 
• 1-2 weekend call rotations every 6 weeks (24-hour Saturday and Sunday coverage). 
• One-hour response time for call requirements. 
• Potential holiday call coverage, including Labor Day rotation.
