What You’ll Do
  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department for a variety of acuity levels and diagnoses.
  • Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patients with time-sensitive conditions.
  • Deliver evidence-based emergency interventions including IV starts and NGT tube insertion (as applicable to role/training).
  • Support chest pain, stroke, and other center-based care workflows (including NIHSS/Stroke support as applicable).
  • Manage high-acuity needs such as ICU gtt management (when applicable to training/assignment).
  • Participate in care coordination with ED physicians, midlevels, charge nurse, and the ED care team.
  • Complete required documentation using the assigned EMR (Meditech Expanse).
What You Need
Required
  • Current RN license
  • 2 years of ED experience
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
  • PALS or ENPC
  • CPI or MOAB
  • Ability to PASS an EKG competency exam prior to arrival (required as part of compliance)

Preferred
  • TNCC
  • Stroke/NIHSS experience
  • Experience supporting emergency skills such as chest tube management, defibrillation, and splinting

This ED assignment serves a broad patient population, including pediatrics through geriatrics, with frequent complex presentations (e.g., cardiac, diabetes/DKA, dialysis/renal failure, infectious disease, CHF/ESRD, LVAD-related needs, trauma, stroke/chest pain center workflows). The department operates with EMR support (Meditech Expanse) and dedicated ED staffing, including physician coverage and continuous support resources.
