Registered Nurse (Evenings) - Inpatient Mental Health

An inpatient psychiatric facility in Central New York is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in a therapeutic mental health setting.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Evenings
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and holidays
• Hours: 3:00pm to 11:30pm
• Setting: Inpatient Mental Health

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and complete physical and mental health assessments
• Provide direct nursing care using the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Serve as primary nurse and coordinate individualized patient care
• Support therapeutic milieu activities, including patient groups, counseling, and patient teaching
• Perform shift charge duties, supervise assigned staff, and complete clinical documentation

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of clinical experience working with patients
• Active New York State Registered Nurse license
• AHA BLS certification

Desired Skills:

• Experience providing care in a mental health or psychiatric setting
• Experience with de-escalation and restraint protocols
• Basic computer proficiency for clinical documentation
• Ability to work effectively in a therapeutic, team-based inpatient environment
• Bilingual language skills
