The Medical Surgical Department at North Alabama Shoals Hospital offers RNs a supportive, patient-focused environment where teamwork and high-quality care are at the center of everything they do. How you''ll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

You''ll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing.

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we''re looking for :

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:

• Associate''s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor''s Degree in Nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.
• Requires one year of nursing experience.
