REGISTERED NURSE- Geriatric Behavioral Health

Job Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
• Renders professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital and carries out orders placed by provider responsible for the patient’s medical care. Provides comprehensive clinical documentation including care plans each shift
• Seeks feedback regarding practice and takes actions as appropriate.
• Communicates patient information appropriate for continuity and safe care through Bedside shift report, Multidisciplinary rounds, and Hourly Rounding (AIDET)
• Compliant in achieving unit specific competencies and requirements
• Completes all net learning modules within timeframe identified.
• Helps to promote a culture of well-being (ex. decreasing alarm fatigue).
• Promotes a positive culture/atmosphere within the department each shift.
• Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff by following established procedures and protocols
• Identifies and assists in correction of patient care safety issues.
• Works within guidelines of Just Culture Environment to promote error reporting and adoption of safe practices.
• Assures issues are addressed through appropriate use of the chain of command
• Participates in Daily unit-based safety Huddles
• Knowledge and understanding of the organization's over-all strategic plan
• Remains up to date with unit-based nurse sensitive indicators (such as CAUTI, CLABSI, CDIFF, HAPU, FALLS, HH and VAE).
• Actively participates in quality initiatives and performance improvement to improve patient outcomes.Job Requirements

  Job Knowledge and Skills

  Basic Dysrhythmia preferred or obtained prior to completion of orientationCrisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained prior to completion of orientation

  Education and Experience

  Current New Hampshire RN license requiredBasic Life Support certification requiredGraduate of an approved Nursing program preferred

  Comp Range:

  $35.10 - $48.34
