Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Correctional Healthcare

Location: St. Lawrence County, NY

Position Summary
Penda Aiken, Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide professional nursing services within a state correctional facility in St. Lawrence County, NY.

This role provides emergency care, chronic care management, and mental health assessment for an incarcerated population. Full-time 8-hour shifts are available across 24/7 rotations (6 AM–2 PM, 2 PM–10 PM, 10 PM–6 AM) with weekend and holiday requirements. Candidates must adhere to strict facility security protocols, professional dress code, and agency policy standards.
Primary Responsibilities

• 
  Clinical Assessments & Triage: Perform nursing assessments and emergency, chronic, and mental health triage care; maintain accurate SOAP format medical charting.
  
• 
  Patient Care & Education: Provide supportive/restorative nursing care, health counseling, and patient education.
  
• 
  Compliance & Infection Control: Maintain up-to-date infection control standards, complete clinical/administrative reports, and participate in staff training.
  
• 
  Interdisciplinary Care: Collaborate actively within an established multidisciplinary healthcare treatment team.
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 
  Licensure: Active, unencumbered NYS Registered Nurse License.
  
• 
  Experience: Minimum of 1 full year of post-licensure experience in Med/Surg, Emergency Room (ER), or ICU/CCU hospital settings.
  
• 
  Skills: Excellent clinical assessment skills and thorough medical documentation abilities.
  
• 
  Compliance: Knowledge of state correctional employee handbooks and adherence to security procedures.
