Clinic Registered Nurse (RN)Position Title: Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) Department: Outpatient Clinic / Medical Office Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Reports To: Clinic Manager / Medical DirectorPosition SummaryThe Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to patients in an outpatient clinical setting. The RN is responsible for assessing patient needs, assisting providers with examinations and procedures, administering treatments and medications, educating patients, and ensuring efficient clinic operations while delivering high-quality patient-centered care.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform patient intake, including obtaining medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints.
Assess patient conditions and document findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments as ordered by providers.
Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and minor procedures.
Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.
Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and specialty appointments.
Triage patient phone calls and walk-in concerns according to clinic protocols.
Monitor and maintain exam room supplies, equipment, and cleanliness.
Ensure compliance with infection control procedures, OSHA standards, HIPAA regulations, and clinic policies.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide quality patient care and improve workflow efficiency.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings as required.
QualificationsEducation
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required;Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience
Previous clinic, outpatient, family practice, or physician office experience preferred.
Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment.
Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control, and patient confidentiality standards.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to provide compassionate, patient-focused care.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as necessary during clinic operations.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and use medical equipment.
Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
Work EnvironmentThis position works primarily in an outpatient clinic or physician office setting with routine exposure to patients with various medical conditions and infectious diseases.
