    At Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital (JHACH), the Vascular Access Team (VAT) is a specialized team of registered nurses who provide expert vascular access care for pediatric patients. Their primary responsibilities include assisting with difficult IV placements and blood draws, as well as placing and managing PIVs, midlines, PICC lines, and other central vascular access devices.

    The team also focuses on patient comfort and pain management during procedures by using options such as numbing creams, Pain Ease spray, and sucrose for infants. Overall, the VAT helps ensure that children receive safe, effective, and compassionate vascular access care, particularly when standard IV access is challenging.

    Qualifications:

    • BSN from an accredited School of Nursing, preferred. Applicants with an Associate Degree in nursing will be considered and must obtain BSN within 36 months of hire
    • Registered Nurse (RN) Required. Florida State or Compact License required.
    • A minimum of 6 months of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse, preferred 2 years of experience
    • BLS certification provided by AHA

    Salary Range: Minimum 36.62/hour - Maximum 54.38/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
