Summary Statement

The incumbent in this position provides nursing services, including but not limited to direct nursing care, assessments, nursing care plans, and coordination of health care services for the residents. The incumbent will supervise and evaluate the care provided to the residents by the certified nursing assistants. In addition, the incumbent will have regular contact with residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, dietary, pharmacy, administration, and other ancillary departments of the facility.

  • Provides or evaluates direct nursing care.
  • Develops, implements, and/or reviews nursing care plans.
  • Provides health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups, and/or nursing home facilities in the management of their health care needs.
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with other members of the treatment team.
  • Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations, and forms.
  • Participates in and makes recommendations regarding quality assurance activities.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Registered Nurse III

Applicants must have education, training, and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  • At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse or a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse or a Masters degree or higher in Nursing.
  • Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.

Additional Posting Information

This is a Casual, Seasonal position, which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits. This posting may be closed on or before 08/26/2026 upon filling the vacant positions.

Conditions of Hire

All new hires are required to attend an in-person statewide mandatory New Employee Orientation on their first day of employment. The session will be held at a designated location in either Kent or New Castle County.

A satisfactory criminal background check is required and must be covered by the applicant with an estimated cost of $85.00. Pre-employment drug testing is also required. Additionally, all new hires are required to complete a 2-Step TBPPD test, which will be administered on their first day at the facility.

This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative labor organization that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment in accordance with Title 29 Chapter 59 and Title 19 Chapter 13 and 16.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.
