Job Description

East Hawaii Health Clinics is seeking a Registered Professional Nurse III to provide outpatient nursing care. This position performs patient assessments, triage, nursing procedures, education, and care coordination while providing age-specific care to patients across the lifespan. This position works with considerable independence and collaborates closely with physicians, clinic staff, and other members of the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform initial patient assessments, obtain vital signs and medical history, and appropriately document patient information.
• Triage patients based on acuity, identify immediate needs, and communicate significant assessment findings to physicians in a timely manner.
• Provide nursing care, procedures, patient education, and follow-up services in accordance with established policies, protocols, and standards of practice.
• Promote patient safety and quality care by following infection control, safety, pain management, confidentiality, and age-specific care practices.
• Maintain clinical equipment, supplies, treatment rooms, and quality assurance activities to support efficient clinic operations.
• Participate in performance improvement, continuing education, staff orientation, and other activities that support professional development and effective clinic operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Experience: One-half (½) year of professional nursing work experience.
• License: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Hawaii.
• Certification: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within one month of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are preferred.

* Rates listed for paid holidays, vacation and sick days are for 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions assigned to 8 hour shifts. Accruals for these benefits are otherwise prorated based on FTE.

Pre-Employment Health Requirements

Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen.  The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
