Registered Nurse - Infusion Center & Wellness Clinic - 24 Hours

Main Function:

• Serves as a cross-covering team member for the Wellness Clinic, which focuses on Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) management.

The Infusion Center Registered Nurse provides direct patient care and infusion therapy services. Responsibilities include administering intravenous medications, chemotherapy/biologic agents, blood products, injections, and hydration therapies per provider orders; monitoring patients for infusion reactions and clinical emergencies; providing education and support to patients and families; ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR); and maintaining a safe clinical environment in compliance with hospital, state, and federal standards. The nurse collaborates with providers, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver patient-centered, high-quality care.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience required.
• Prior experience in infusion therapy strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in IV insertion, venipuncture, infusion pump operation, and management of infusion reactions.
• Experience with chemotherapy or other hazardous agents preferred, but not required.
• Strong background in patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) or Diploma in Nursing accepted with commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Connecticut required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
