Registered Nurse, Inpatient Medicine (9 Mandell) - 36hrs

Department Summary:
9 Mandell is a 24-bed inpatient medical unit that operates 24/7, caring for patients of all ages with conditions such as general medical, gastroenterology, pulmonary, immunology, rheumatology, metabolism, toxicology and behavioral health issues.  Registered nurses coordinate care within the interdisciplinary team.  They work collaboratively with other clinical staff including physicians, pharmacists, social workers, clinical assistants, child life specialists, behavioral health specialists, nutrition support staff, physical therapists, nurse practitioners and pastoral care to meet comprehensive patient needs.  This includes assessment, planning, monitoring, physical care, medication management, pain management, patient/family education, discharge planning and continuous evaluation of care.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Providing family centered care on our Inpatient Medical unit, 9 East, that cares for patients with multisystem disorders, developmental and cognitive delays, general medical patients, pulmonary, GI, as well as behavioral health disorders.
• Working in a fast paced, collaborative environment with many opportunities for learning and career growth with comprehensive orientation to meet individual needs.
• 36 hours; rotating days/nights working and every other weekend.

 
Minimum Qualifications
Education:

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

 
Experience:

• 1-2 years of inpatient (acute care) RN experience required.
• 2-3 years of RN experience preferred.

 
Licensure/Certifications:

• Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
