Department: 6400V – 2nd South Station ICU

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required.
  • No local candidates within a 50-mile radius.
  • Current AHA BLS Certification required.
  • Current AHA ACLS Certification required.
  • Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification required.
  • Experience caring for critically ill adult patients in an acute care ICU setting preferred.

Unit Overview

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides comprehensive care for critically ill adult patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced life support. The unit manages a wide range of complex medical, surgical, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions, utilizing evidence-based critical care practices and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients with complex medical and surgical conditions.
  • Perform continuous patient assessments and monitor hemodynamic, cardiac, neurological, and respiratory status.
  • Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive drips, invasive monitoring, and advanced life support interventions.
  • Administer medications, IV infusions, blood products, and critical care therapies according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and diagnostic findings, responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
