Up to a $25,000 Sign on Bonus for qualified Registered Nurses!!!*Terms of payment may vary based on experience*MAIN FUNCTION:The Staff Nurse is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. Reports to the Heart & Vascular Clinical Director.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists with scrubbing, circulation and recording in the Cath Lab per Cath Lab policies and physicians specific procedures.Maintains an adequate stock and proper inventory of drugs and narcotics.Is responsible for on-call coverage with response time not to exceed 30 minutes.Is skilled in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Remains flexible in staffing patterns and resolutions of staffing conflicts; rotates through non-invasive Cardiology Lab, as needed.Heart Institute Ambulatory Care Unit (HIACU) rotation involving prep and recovery of Cardiology, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Radiology patients required.It is understood that this job description lists typical duties for the classification and is not to be considered inclusive of all duties, which may be assigned.EDUCATION: Registered Nurse; current NYS licensure. ACLS preferred.EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year critical care experience.CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. Cardiac experience required. Previous Critical Care/ICU experience desirable. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to be on feet much of time. Appreciable physical effort including lifting, reaching, stooping, moving patients and pushing of beds and stretchers. EXPOSURE CATEGORY: Category I.
