At Love & Loyalty Home Care, we are growing our developmental disability services program and are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and knowledgeable Registered Nurse who can provide nursing support when an individual's needs or Individualized Service Plan call for it.

What Will You Do?

Registered nursing services are not part of the routine staffing pattern for our non-center-based day support program. Nursing services are provided when an individual's assessed medical needs or Individualized Service Plan require them.

When needed, you may:

• Conduct nursing assessments.
• Monitor an individual's health status and identify changes or concerns.
• Provide health-related consultation and recommendations.
• Provide medication oversight when applicable.
• Develop or contribute to health-related interventions.
• Provide health education to individuals, families, and Direct Support Professionals.
• Train and coach staff on health-related needs and appropriate responses.
• Communicate with physicians, healthcare providers, families, and the individual's support team.
• Support appropriate emergency and health-response procedures.
• Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Provide other nursing services appropriate to the individual's medical needs and Individualized Service Plan.
• Support quality improvement and safe service delivery.

How the Nursing Role Works

Nursing services will be provided through a qualified Registered Nurse licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia, either through a contracted nurse or an appropriate referral arrangement.

The nurse will work collaboratively with the individual's support team to make sure nursing services are appropriate, individualized, and connected to the person's assessed needs and Individualized Service Plan.

What Do You Need?

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with:

• A current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Virginia.
• Appropriate nursing education and experience for the responsibilities of the position.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of person-centered care and individualized service planning.
• Ability to educate and coach Direct Support Professionals.
• Ability to work collaboratively with individuals, families, healthcare providers, and other professionals.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and applicable screenings.
• Willingness to complete applicable Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services training.
