Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Rate: $75.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: 3x12 Nights Shift Most likely this will be a straight Night Shift position. If clinician is needed to cover both nights and days, schedule flips every 4 weeks.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks Traveler can be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes every other
  • On-Call Required: No
  • Travel Requirements: Not required

Job Summary

This is a Labor and Delivery RN travel assignment at a high-risk OB unit in Anchorage, AK. The unit operates OB Triage/Testing (5 10 patients), and 7 14 LD/Antepartum patients, and functions as a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit with 10 OB Triage Rooms, 10 LDR Rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms. Average daily deliveries are around 7, but the unit often has up to 14 patients with inductions and high-risk antepartum. OB Triage averages 4 5 third trimester testing patients as well as an influx of triage patients each day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit including OB Triage/Testing and Antepartum patient populations
  • Manage patient census ranging from 5 10 in OB Triage/Testing and 7 14 in LD/Antepartum
  • Float to like units within scope to meet facility needs if needed
  • Charge experience preferred; facility is willing to train as charge if needed

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing

  • Ability to complete AK RN license application within 48 hours of signing (including submitting fingerprints, application fee, and license application submittal)

Education Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license AK RN license required (pending license accepted; must have AK RN license in hand for Auto Offer)
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • AWHONN Intermediate certification required
  • AWHONN Advanced certification required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
  • First-time travelers accepted
