  • Pay Rate: $77.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Night Shift, 3 12 Hours, 19:00 07:30

Job Summary

This is a Labor and Delivery travel/contract RN position at an acute care hospital in Fullerton, CA. The unit operates at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. The traveler will be expected to work nights (3 12-hour shifts) and must be open to working weekends likely exceeding every other weekend to meet unit need. Floating to Mother Baby may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision (expert-level, hard stop requirement)
  • Triage Labor and Delivery patients (hard stop requirement must be independently capable)
  • Provide Labor and Delivery nursing care at a 1:2 patient ratio
  • Float between Labor and Delivery and Mother Baby units as needed
  • Work weekends as required, likely exceeding every other weekend to meet unit need
  • Document patient care using Meditech charting system

Required Skills

  • EPIC experience required
  • AWHONN Advanced certification required (hard stop must have a pass; this is a non-negotiable requirement)
  • Expert experience performing sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision (hard stop)
  • Ability to perform L&D triage independently (hard stop do not screen or pass candidates who cannot)
  • Ability to work nights (19:00 07:30, 3 12-hour shifts)
  • Openness to working weekends, up to and potentially exceeding every other weekend
  • Ability to float to Mother Baby unit

Education Requirements

  • Active RN License required (pending license not accepted)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
  • AWHONN Advanced certification required (hard stop)
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiovascular Life Support) required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1.5 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required (hard stop); 2 years preferred
  • Under 2 years may be considered depending on experience 1.5-year minimum is an absolute hard stop
  • First-time travelers accepted: Yes

Important Notes

  • AWHONN Advanced is a hard stop candidate must have a passing credential. Do not screen or pass candidates without it.
  • Sterile vaginal exams and triage are hard stop requirements candidate must be able to perform independently without supervision. Do not screen or pass candidates who cannot meet this requirement.
  • EPIC experience is required.
  • Local radius is 50 miles please reach out to the Account Manager for local rate information.
  • Scheduling preferences may be considered but are not guaranteed. Scheduling requests due to additional employment will not be considered.
  • RTO restrictions: RTO must be included at time of submission.
  • Pending license: Not accepted.
