• Shift / Schedule: Night shift, 3x12 Hours, 19:00 7:30

Job Summary

This is a Labor and Delivery RN travel contract position at an acute care hospital in Fullerton, CA. The unit operates at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio. Travelers will be required to float to the mother baby unit as needed. Block scheduling is subject to manager discretion.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sterile vaginal exams independently and without supervision this is a hard stop requirement; candidates unable to perform independently will not be screened or passed
• Conduct triage as required by the Labor and Delivery unit sterile vaginal exams and triage are hard stop requirements
• Provide labor and delivery nursing care in an acute care hospital setting at a 1:2 patient ratio
• Float to mother baby unit as needed to meet unit staffing requirements
• Work weekends as required every other weekend minimum, may exceed every other weekend to meet unit need
• Utilize Meditech for all charting
• Utilize Epic as required (Epic experience is mandatory)

Required Skills

• Expert experience in Labor and Delivery nursing must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision
• Epic proficiency required, hard stop
• Proficiency with Meditech charting system
• Ability and willingness to float to mother baby unit
• Availability and willingness to work weekends every other at minimum, may exceed to meet unit need
• Open to accommodating scheduling per manager discretion

Education Requirements

• Active RN license required pending license not accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• AWHONN Advanced certification required, hard stop; must have a passing score
• BCLS (Basic Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required

Required Experience

• Minimum 1.5 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience 1.5 years is a hard stop minimum
• 2 years of experience required; candidates with under 2 years may be considered depending on overall experience
• First-time travelers accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Type of Facility: Acute Care Hospital
• Total Staffed Beds: 320
• Scrub Color: RN Royal Blue; L&D/OR provided by facility
• Parking: Free parking available
• Night shift position: 19:00 7:30, 3x12-hour shifts
• Guaranteed hours: facility is able to call off once per two-week pay period
• On-call: Not required
• Local radius: 50 miles candidates within 50 miles should contact the recruiter for local rate information

• AWHONN Advanced certification is a hard stop candidate must have a passing score. Do not screen or pass candidates without it.
• Sterile vaginal exams and triage are hard stop requirements do not screen or pass candidates who cannot perform sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision.
• Epic experience is required hard stop.
• Scheduling preferences may be considered but are not guaranteed.
• Scheduling requests related to additional outside employment will not be considered.
• RTO (requested time off) restrictions apply RTO must be included at time of submission.
• COVID-19 vaccination: Not required.
