Registered Nurse/Labor and Delivery

Job Title:

Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) with Mother/Baby Experience

Location:

Elmhurst, NY 11373

Duration:

13 week

Shift:

Night 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 07:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and postpartum patients.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
• Deliver immediate postpartum and newborn (Mother/Baby) care.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth, recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and electronic health records.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices.

Required Qualification:

• Minimum two (2) years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Experience in Mother/Baby (Postpartum) care required
• Strong clinical skills in labor monitoring, postpartum care, and neonatal assessment
• Ability to work night shifts and weekend requirements

Current Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License (State-specific)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required (AHA)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous travel nursing experience
• Strong experience in high-acuity Labor & Delivery settings
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
