Certs REQ: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate course required

Floating Requirements: May float to Methodist Hospital ED - will not take primary assignment, will provide OB-specific care alongside a primary RN. On first shift at Methodist, nurse is asked to arrive 30 minutes early for quick orientation to unit and supplies.

RTO Restrictions: Must work 2/3 major holidays.
Guaranteed Hours: 8 and 10 hr. shifts - 40 hrs. in one workweek. 3, 12 hr shifts - 36 hrs. in one workweek. 4, 12 hr. shifts - 48 hrs. in one workweek.

Special Requirements: L&D Travel experience, Facility births/month 200-300, NST (Non Stress Tests), Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus, Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring), Diabetes mellitus, Malpresentations (breech / face / brow), Multiple Gestation, Placenta Previa/Abruptio, Pre-eclampsia / eclampsia, Premature Rupture of Membranes, Preterm labor,RH incompatibilities, Uterine rupture, VBAC management / trial of labor, Use of External Fetal Monitoring, Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring, Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration, Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns*** Administration of blood & blood products, Drawing Venous Blood, Start & maintain peripheral IV, Antihypertensives, Insulin drips, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), Prostaglandins,

**Periop/OR RN s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule. These IN travelers are allowed to work past the 11/30 deadline. Periop includes ENDO, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, SDS**
